TFCD Shoots

Home

Selected model portfolio shoots are conducted on a Time for CD (TFCD) basis. TFCD means that the model is trading her time in exchange for a CD containing images from the shoot. Neither the model nor the photographer is paid. Models, or their legal guardian for models under 18, are required to sign a Model Release form. The model release forms are included on this site so they can be reviewed prior to the shoot. Escorts are always welcomed and even encouraged. Minors must be escorted by a legal guardian, absolutely without exception.

Portfolio sessions are shot in raw format. When shooting in raw format, the camera saves the image as seen by the sensor and does not automatically process the image and save it as a jpeg. The advantage of shooting in raw format is enhanced final image quality. The disadvantage is that it takes the photographer longer to work with the images. George will typically take several hundred pictures during a TFCD portfolio shoot but the final CD delivered to the model will only contain around a dozen of the best shots. The image workflow process first incorporates selection of the best images from the raw files before the editing is performed and subsequently saved to a jpeg format. The model may elect to participate in this selection process. The final CD will contain small size images with the Lewchin Studios’ tag and full size images without the tag. The small images are ideal for posting on the web or Emailing to clients and friends. The full size images should be used for portfolio prints. It usually takes two to four weeks to complete the CD after the shoot. Large portfolio prints (13 by 19 inches) can be obtained from Lewchin Studios for $20 each. The model is also provided an Image Release Form allowing her to get prints made at the photo processing lab of her choice.

Are you interested in working with Lewchin Studios at no cost to you other than your own travel? George is accepting applications for TFCD shoots. Since he does have a full time career his time is limited and shoots are usually booked months in advance. Applications will be assessed on the model’s ability to add value to the studio portfolio and unfortunately not all applications will be accepted. This does not mean that you have to be an experienced model. It just means that you must have a look, style, or idea that will benefit the studio portfolio. If you are interested, you have nothing to lose by applying. But please, only apply if you are serious and intend to keep the appointment if one is made.

To apply, send an Email to George and include
1) your contact information (name, address, and phone number),
2) the type of photos you want from your shoot (casual, glamour, portrait, fashion, sports, swimsuit, lingerie, artistic) or any special ideas that you have for the shoot
3) physical attributes (height, weight, measurements, age, sex, hair length and color, eye color, skin color), and a picture of yourself.

Models need to bring many changes of clothes (at least six but more is better) and hair and makeup supplies to the shoot. A makeup artist can be provided for $50/hour with a four hour minimum or you are also welcomed to bring your own. A shoot lasts between three and eight hours depending on the number of clothes and makeup changes and the types of photos (glamour and artistic can take considerable time in lighting and prop configurations).
